Summit Seekers is our hiking program that takes boys out onto the Redding trails to learn about God through games and activities designed to engage boys how they learn best – through movement and imagination. Each season is intended to instill a different theme, from learning that God is fun (for the Younger's 8-9) to learning about their God-given identity, purpose and authority as well as how to be a good team player and collaborate well.

COMING SOON!

  • Ignite & Shine Bright
In this session, the girls head to a local park to learn about what it means to be a light in the world. Everyone has been asked to bring something special from home that represents a special part of who they are. We play games to get to know each other, do team ice breaker challenges and practice hearing God's voice to encourage one another. The girls set a goal or intention for the rest of the season, too!
  • A Measure of Faith
In this session, the girls pop open balloons filled with mysterious clues and they have to work as a team to get to the top of the mountain (a small, easily hikeable hill nearby.) We talk about how the Holy Spirit leads us with whispers through every step of our journey and how we can learn to hear God's voice even in the midst of a storm.
  • Break Through the Noise
In this songwriting session, the girls experience the power of worship and the spoken testimony of God. We play fun word warmup games and write silly warmup poems in a game. Everyone contributes to the lyrics in our group songwriting session. We perform it for the parents and hold onto it for performing for our special guests at a future session!
  • Hosting a Meal
In this session, the girls must decide as a team how to spend $25 at Trader Joes as a team and buy enough food and supplies to feed the parents with a home-cooked meal in just our three-hour session. We talk about what it means to serve with love, like Jesus asks us to. We prepare a beautiful meal and learn to serve food how a restaurant would. We have fun wowing the parents with our meal!
  • More Than Emotions
In this session, the girls learn all about their emotions from different perspectives: spiritually, physically, and emotionally. We play some fun games with emojis and acting, we do a prophetic act with a jump rope for breakthrough in our emotions and have fun playing charades and other emotions games!
  • Garment of Praise
In this session, the we talk about how God often comforts us with creativity, and that when we give him our troubles he gives us something amazing in exchange. We share stores, sing some songs and then we spend our time sewing and bedazzling canvas tote bags with empowering words that the girls get to take home.
  • Spiritual Intelligence
In this session, the difference between IQ, EQ, and SQ. We learn about first, second, and third heaven and how to hear God beyond the ‘noise’ of every-day life. We talk about how God’s voice is always good. we play a fun taste-testing game where we practice hearing Holy Spirit's voice to guess what food is coming next and have a fun blindfolded challenge!
  • Making Powerful Decisions
In this session, the girls visit the Shasta Dam and talk about the power of saying 'no' and setting boundaries. We talk about God's boundaries, how to identify our needs in the midst of emotion and what it looks like to powerfully and kindly communicate them.
  • Faith on Fire
In this session, we talk about what it means to have 'real' faith, faith that does something for others. We prepare some yummy baked treats and talk about how our faith is like cake batter or raw cookie dough - fire activates and transforms it, just like Holy Spirit's fire activates and transforms us. We take our baked treats to the guests living at the Good News Rescue Mission and pray for people there.
  • Dreaming Big
In this session, the girls head to a park to talk about their life dreams. They share encouraging words with each other about what they see in one another, qualities that point them in the direction of those dreams. They ask the Holy Spirit for a picture and paint it onto a blank puzzle, which we collect and hand out at random to the group as a prophetic word.
  • Peace in the Storm
In this session, the girls head to a local trail and talk about what it means to have Jesus, the Prince of Peace, living inside of them. They play games that challenge them to find inner peace even in the midst of chaos and to press into the voice of the Holy Spirit. We get our feet wet and walk against the stream as a prophetic act of what God has called us to do! We walk a short distance to where we have treats waiting for us.
  • Words Are Weapons
In this session, the girls head to a local park learn about the power of God's word to fight 'bad' or 'less-godly' words that have been spoken over them. We talk about spiritual authority and how the Holy Spirit gives us discernment to know the difference between a lie and a God's truth about who we are. We write down lies on post-its and cut them off using actual swords. Then we put truth post-its on in their place.
