CLICK TO VIEW: We will learn to cast down religious thinking and idols from our life and how we torch impossible standards by doing so.
What's Happening:
In this session, the group heads to the Fishermans point close to the Shasta Dam to talk about how unreasonable standards can become idols in our life. We talk about how Elijah challenged the false prophets in the Bible by calling down fire from heaven. The boys write down impossible standards or idols they feel like are in their way, and then they do a prophetic act of 'calling fire from heaven'. They have to build a fire with three matches. We finish by roasting some hot dogs over the fire.
Bring/Wear:
It's cold and we are outside! Bring waterproof shoes, a warm jacket. We're going out, rain or shine! Water and a small snack is optional. Bring also a flashlight or headlamp as it gets darker toward the end of our session.
